Purpose: Education for Exultation
Worshipping Together With Our Minds
Deuteronomy 31: 9-13 tells us that the Word of God was taught to the people of God so that they would "Hear and learn to fear the Lord your God." This means that goal of our learning more about God is that He would be worshipped and glorified, and that in being worshiped and glorified He would be delighted in, treasured, and savored above everything else. That is why we say that the goal of education is worship, or exultation. God is magnified when our minds meditate upon Him as He has revealed himself in His Word.
We offer several classes for adult education each ministry season. See our current offerings below. To get involved, click the "sign up" link to email the group leader.
Old Testament Foundations: Moses and the Modern Mind (Israel in Egypt)
Led by Mike Braun Sr., Th.M. / On Sundays at 11:00 AM
Moses revealed two great avenues in which God manifested his character and purpose: creation and the word. In the Book of Romans we will discover how forgiven sinners can be transformed into glorified saints through Moses’ revelation. The books of Moses are foundational to a true understanding of God’s will and work in the world. In the course of our study we will face many contemporary issues that challenge the modern mind. We will address many of those profound questions asked by believers over centuries. Our ultimate goal is to tap the spiritual resources of Moses’ words and understand his overarching message. Our prayer is that God will both engage our modern minds and anchor our eternal hopes in Him.

We are excited about this year's Men's Spring Conference as we gather for a weekend away at the Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. This is a great time to get to know other men from Four Oaks to worship, fellowship, hang out, and engage in God's Word together. Our speaker this year will be Rev. Les Newsom, who is ordained as a pastor in the PCA and is a very gifted preacher and bible teacher. We want to do everything we can to make this a spiritually significant and impactful weekend for our men. Please join us and bring a friend
In a culture and world that seems to be constantly changing, people are looking for something fixed and constant to hold on to. For Christians particularly, the great challenge is how to live out a life of faithfulness before God in a world that is not only changing but is most often in conflict with the Christian faith. Pastor Les Newsom will unpack God's Word from Revelation 4-7 in our times together, where we will find that the New Testament church and believers were struggling with these very same issues. The Apostle John addresses their struggles by pointing them to eternal realities that are fixed and unchanging, and we are hopeful that God will do the same for us through Pastor Les and his teaching.
The price for the conference is $125 and includes lodging in 2 br resort condo, Friday Dinner and Saturday lunch.
