Four Oaks is blessed to minister to an ever-increasing group of college students each semester. We remain firmly convinced that the instrument that God primarily uses to build His kingdom is the local church. Even though there’s a great temptation for Christian college students to “church hop” or float between campus ministries, we believe God calls college students to commit themselves to service and involvement in the local church. It is in the church that students begin to understand how to apply the Word of God to every area of life and to order their lives around Him and His kingdom.

Our desire is to equip college students with a biblical worldview, a passion for the gospel of Jesus Christ and a love for the local church that they will take with them as they leave this season of life.

While there are several "college only" opportunities for students at Four Oaks Church, we encourage them to remember that their first commitment is to be to the larger body of believers through:

  • Participation in corporate worship, teaching, and the church ordinances (Lord’s Supper; Baptism)
  • Identification With the Body Through Church Membership, and Submission to the leadership of the church (pastors and elders)
  • Service to the Body in various avenues of ministry (children’s ministry, youth ministry, mercy ministries, etc.)

Fellowship Groups

Fellowship Groups are basic Christian communities. They are gatherings of 10-14 people meeting in individual's homes in Tallahassee on a weekly basis. In Fellowship Groups, people come to know God and to experience His presence, community is developed and fostered, and people are nurtured, equipped and released for God's work in the world. They provide an opportunity for intimacy, mutual support, practical love and service, learning about the Christian faith, prayer, and sharing of what we see God doing in our midst. They are led by trained lay-leaders from the congregation who are given on-going support and oversight by an elder and pastor. We encourage all of our college students to be a part of one of our Fellowship Groups and experience the intergenerational benefits of getting to know adults of all ages who are a part of Four Oaks.

Graduates and Professionals Group

Graduates & Professionals at Four Oaks (GAP) have a Bible study at John and Margaret Stewart’s home every other Friday night. We would like to see this group unite, grow, and draw more people in this age bracket (22-35) to Four Oaks, and more importantly, to Christ. One of our elders, John Stewart, will lead a discussion that will be geared toward those who are curious about investigating the claims of Christ. See the Upcoming Events listing at the right for the next date.
